About the role
The Business Development & Community Relations Liaison represents California Corporate Chaplains in the community and develops relationships with organizations that may benefit from CCCHAPS services. The position focuses on relationship development, organizational outreach, business development, and helping generate qualified opportunities for CCCHAPS. Potential organizations may include hospices, healthcare organizations, senior living communities, board & care facilities, assisted-living organizations, employers and small businesses, HR departments, employee-support programs, community organizations, and other organizations that may benefit from professional chaplaincy, grief support, workforce care, training, or related CCCHAPS services. Authority and scope of role This position does not independently bind California Corporate Chaplains to contracts, sign agreements unless specifically authorized, establish final pricing, guarantee services, or negotiate final contractual terms without authorization. The liaison may develop opportunities and assist prospective organizations through the business-development process, while final pricing, agreements, and contract authority remain with designated CCCHAPS leadership. Compensation and business-development bonus This is a part-time position paid at $26.00 per hour, up to 15 hours per week initially. In addition, the position is eligible for a $500 business-development bonus when BOTH of the following occur: (1) an organization originated through the Liaison's business-development efforts enters into a CCCHAPS service contract, and (2) California Corporate Chaplains receives payment on the first invoice associated with that contract. This is not a commission, and it does not apply to every lead, meeting, proposal, or unsigned opportunity. Final eligibility and payment terms will be documented in the employee's written compensation agreement.
Potential responsibilities
- Identify prospective organizational clients across California.
- Introduce California Corporate Chaplains and its services to decision-makers.
- Build relationships with executives, administrators, HR leaders, healthcare leaders, and community partners.
- Conduct professional outreach by phone, email, networking, and in-person visits.
- Schedule consultations and introductory meetings.
- Follow up with prospective organizations.
- Attend networking, community, healthcare, and business events where appropriate.
- Educate organizations about available CCCHAPS services and resources.
- Maintain appropriate records of prospective organizations and follow-up activity.
- Coordinate qualified opportunities with CCCHAPS leadership.
- Support organizational proposals and contract-development conversations.
- Represent CCCHAPS professionally and accurately.

- Ability to work independently while remaining accountable to CCCHAPS leadership.
- Comfortable representing an organization in business and community settings.
- Ability to communicate professionally with people from diverse backgrounds and belief systems.
- Basic proficiency with email and web-based systems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Reliable transportation for local organizational and community outreach when in-person visits are required.
Preferred qualifications
- Previous business-development, community-relations, outreach, marketing, account-development, healthcare outreach, senior-care outreach, sales, or similar experience.
- Experience working with healthcare, hospice, senior living, HR, employee-support, nonprofit, or community organizations.
- Existing professional or community relationships.
- Experience communicating with executives, administrators, business owners, HR leaders, or healthcare leaders.
- Familiarity with workplace wellness, employee support, chaplaincy, grief support, healthcare, or senior-care environments.
- Experience with presentations, networking, or organizational outreach.
